In 2025 I quit corporate life due to the fact that every action every day felt like bullshit. None of it mattered and none if it felt like things humans should be doing. It's all an endless dance of nonsense. So I tried to start an AI company, being as I, was quite good at it, was a day one chat GPT user and knew more about it than anyone I knew IRL.

Very quickly I realized that I was replacing my nonsense corporate job with my own self-employed nonsense. The biggest factor in my decisions to quit AI though was the look in my teenage kids eyes. They were not proud. Simultaneously the developments at the end of 2025 made it clear that generative AI is not it. As an industry or a technology. Financially it is a circular mess. Agents don't work that well/ Vibe coding is not it. It is glorified auto complete that sounds smart.

So in my opinion current AI sucks. And worse than that for individuals it is DANGEROUS to give some code an ability to shape your mental health. It is set up to never say you're wrong. It is the worst of echo chambers.

It doesn't have any deep answers for you on life, or happiness, and we should use it simply as slightly better google only.

YOU are the only expert in existence on yourself, it is better to do the work yourself, ask yourself questions so you can probe your own mind and your own feelings and experiences.

I quit AI January 1st 2026, have barely used it since. Turned it off in as many places as possible. Uninstalled all the apps. Abandoned or deleted all the log-ins I had (about 60).

This act alone has made a difference to me and now I am looking to document more ways I try to be more real human and less fake-ass piece of shit human. My hope is that sharing my journey may help you on yours.
