Blow (NaPoWriMo Day 4)

Blow (NaPoWriMo Day 4)

Today's prompt from https://www.napowrimo.net/ is:

craft your own short poem that involves a weather phenomenon and some aspect of the season. Try using rhyme and keeping your lines of roughly even length.

I took the last part of the prompt somewhat loosely because I hate rhyming couplets. That's for children and greeting cards. First weekend prompt of this year so I knocked this out in record time. 4 mins and change.

But here is what I came up with:

Blow

The tree creaks as it's weight shifts.
As if, it's the vessel for a noose.
Knife-like, air slashes at your eyes, you stoop.
Stewed thoughts lick the edge of change.
Chiming breathlessly "you won't make it".
Maybe, senses have no sense of time.
Thine will be done. It's a new season.
