The Modern Poet (Autopsychography Updated)

The poet is one who fixes
and fixes with such subtelty
that they manage to seem broken.
Broken from the price of fixing.

All thanks to those that read the manual,
that troubleshoot the seven dollar checklist.
They have none of the broken pain of making.
They avoid the void that the band aid can't close.

And so around and around we all go.
Blaring attention to stay vital.
To deceive that we are sane and rational.
And that somehow, someway what we call love
is in fact special.
